How is a handcrafted Christopher Guy upholstered piece finished? Watch an expert upholster from London Upholsterers cover a beautiful hand-carved chair at our Chelsea Harbour showroom.
The free drop-in event takes place over a whole afternoon, with guests invited to watch the expert at work, demonstrating the fine art of covering and piping the CG Monte-Carlo chair in our beautiful Altfield Mylio fabric. During the demonstration the upholster will discuss the importance of choice of fabrics, weft, pattern and repeat, the tools used, and how a perfect finish is attained. There will also be the chance to see a cross-section of an upholstered piece in detail, showing the various layers and stages that go into upholstering a CG piece.
The Monte-Carlo is a sleek occasional chair with a sweeping low back rest incorporating the signature CG Criss-Cross leg design. The frame is handcrafted from sustainably sourced mahogany, an extraordinarily strong and durable wood which, with careful treatment, can last a lifetime.
Visitors to the event can enjoy refreshments while they learn about this fascinating skill.
